AFAD announces the number of aftershocks in Balıkesir
AFAD announced that 237 aftershocks have been recorded following the 6.1-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Balıkesir yesterday evening, which resulted in the loss of one life.
The number of aftershocks that have occurred following the 6.1-magnitude earthquake in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir yesterday has been announced.
While yesterday's earthquakes caused serious destruction, unfortunately, one of our citizens lost their life.
In the statement made by AFAD, it was stated: "Following the Mw 6.1-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Sındırgı (Balıkesir) on August 10, 237 aftershock activities have been detected in the region, 10 of which are above 4.0 in magnitude."
The statement continued as follows:
"Earthquake activity in the region continues to be monitored 24/7 without interruption by the AFAD Earthquake Department."
