The protests carried out by European farmers for some time have spread to Turkey. Farmers in Konya drove their tractors to the Seydibey potato factory to protest the relocation of production quotas to another district. The farmers stated that the quota transfer was illogical.
The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy, among others, have seen protests organized by many farmers across Europe, and now these actions have spread to Konya.
Farmers gathered in the city and formed a convoy with their tractors and passenger vehicles to head to the Seydibey potato factory, where they protested the shifting of production quotas to another district.
In a press statement made in front of the factory, the farmers said, "The wrong decision made by the potato factory to have planting done in places further away from the factory and storage areas, leading to higher transportation and costs, while there are production lands near the factory, is illogical and does not make sense."
