Ahmet Arif Denizolgun investigation: Testimony of arrested doctor Nurettin Demirkol revealed

The investigation into the suspicious death of Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, the former leader of the Süleymancılar community and former Minister of Transport, continues.

The testimony of doctor Nurettin Demirkol, who was arrested within the scope of the investigation on charges of 'perjury', has been obtained.

Demirkol stated that approximately 10 years have passed since the incident and that he does not remember many of the details.

The prosecutor's office reminded Demirkol that although he previously stated he did not know who called the police and medical teams, 155 emergency call records identified that the call was made from his own phone.

Demirkol responded to this question by saying, “I do not remember whether I called or someone else called on the day of the incident. Someone else may have called from my phone.” Admitting that he spoke with the police several times, Demirkol stated that he did not remember whether he himself had made the report.

“I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER MY PATIENTS,” HE SAID

When asked why he could remember phone conversations but not the emergency report, Demirkol pointed to the time that had passed, saying, “I don't even remember a patient I was following up on a week ago. Therefore, it is quite reasonable that I cannot remember this.”

Demirkol also stated that he did not remember which phone number the police had used to call him.

ANSWERED QUESTION REGARDING HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH DENIZOLGUN

Demirkol, who had previously stated in the investigation that he was not Denizolgun's private doctor, was also asked about the term “family doctor” used for him by the officials who arrived at the scene.

Demirkol stated, “I examined the deceased 2-3 times. However, I do not know how one becomes a family doctor. Since I do not know what is meant by this term, I do not know whether I am a family doctor or not.”

MADE A STATEMENT REGARDING BASE STATION RECORDS

During his interrogation by the judge, it was brought up that although Demirkol said he was at his home in Kısıklı on the day of the incident, there were no base station records for him in the area during certain hours.

Demirkol explained this situation with the words, “It is not possible for me to have no base station records for 2 days. I was at my residence that day. I do not remember any contrary situation. I do not know why the base station records turned out this way.”

SAID OTHERS MIGHT HAVE USED HIS PHONE

When asked again whether he had called the police teams, Demirkol stated that he had left his phone out on the day of the incident, saying, “I left my phone out that day. Therefore, even one of the people coming and going might have called. Regarding the police's statement, I do not remember whether I called or not.”

Demirkol was also asked whether Hilmi Tuna Kuriş, Ahmet Yum, Ahmet Gökçen, and Alihan Kuriş were present at the scene. Demirkol responded to most of these questions by saying he did not remember.

“THE WORD 'LIE' UPSETS ME”

Denying the accusations against him during the judicial interrogation, Demirkol said that approximately 10 years had passed since the incident and that he had difficulty remembering many events that occurred in the past.

While using the expression, “The word 'lie' upsets me,” Demirkol said, “I don't remember my patient who was hospitalized a month ago. I have seen thousands of deaths. I have examined hundreds of thousands of patients.”

Speaking about the condition of Denizolgun when he saw him, Demirkol stated, “When I arrived, the deceased was dead. The death was not recent.”
