Ahmet Ercan provides a 'date range' for the Istanbul earthquake! He announced his magnitude estimate...
Geophysicist Prof. Dr. Övgün Ahmet Ercan made important statements on his social media account regarding the expected earthquake in Istanbul. Ercan provided information about the earthquake's magnitude and the possible date range.
Earth scientist Prof. Dr. Övgün Ahmet Ercan shared striking data on his social media account regarding his latest study.
HE ANNOUNCED A TIME RANGE
Making a series of assessments during the night, Ercan announced the possible time frame for the major earthquake concerning Istanbul. Including a map in his post, Prof. Dr. Ercan made a striking prediction regarding the magnitude of the expected earthquake.

Stating that an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 to 8, which has been talked about for a long time, is no longer possible for Istanbul, Ercan indicated that the maximum possible magnitude would be 6.7.

"EARTHQUAKES ARE NOT EXPECTED BEFORE 2045"
Prof. Dr. Ercan emphasized that the possible earthquakes might have been postponed, saying, "Earthquakes are not expected before 2045; earthquakes could occur in 2075 or later."
In addition, he drew attention to the risk distribution across different regions of Istanbul by noting, "The Anatolian side will be the least affected."

The full text of Ercan's statement is as follows:
"The M6.2 Silivri Earthquake provided very valuable information on the expected North Marmara Earthquakes.
1. The fault trace will be in an east-west direction.
2. The Istanbul Branch will fork off in front of Zeytinburnu and turn towards Sivri Ada.
3. The earthquake focus on the Istanbul branch will be 25 km inside the Marmara Sea from Küçükçekmece, at a depth of 7-10 km, within the granite.
4. The magnitude of the earthquake on the Istanbul branch will be M6.7.
5. The magnitude will drop to M6.9-M7.1 on the Thrace branch.
6. There is no longer a possibility of an M7.5 or M8 earthquake.
7. Neither have the earthquakes ended, nor is there a possibility of an earthquake at any moment.
8. The tsunami height will not exceed 2 meters.
9. The Anatolian side will be the least affected.
10. Earthquakes are not expected before 2045; earthquakes could occur in 2075 or later."
