Ahmet Hakan reacts to comments about Ahmet Türk regarding the trustee appointment: 'He is content with his situation...'

Former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk, who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee, joined the parliamentary visit tours of Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan, who had previously met with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı.

Following Ahmet Türk's inclusion in the DEM Party delegation, the opposition front reminded him of the trustee appointed to his municipality. Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, known for his proximity to the government, reacted to these comments.

"Some CHP politicians are saying: 'They appointed a trustee to the man's municipality. Now they are treating him like royalty.' Fine. We are right. However, there is another side to the story: Ahmet Türk has completely cast the issue of the trustee into the garden of oblivion. He doesn't even seem to care. He doesn't say, 'Just yesterday you appointed a trustee to my municipality' or anything like that. Far from it! He doesn't even hint at it. He is content with his situation. He doesn't make an issue of the trustee at all," said Ahmet Hakan, asking, "While Ahmet Türk doesn't make an issue of the trustee, why are we making an issue of it?"
