Instagram, which was blocked by a BTK decision on August 2, was reopened for access in Turkey on August 10.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Instagram would be reopened in a statement he made on August 10, providing a specific time.
Following this statement by Uraloğlu, economist Özgür Demirtaş made a post on his social media account that read, “Open Instagram! Immediately! Now!”
Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, known for his proximity to the government, targeted Özgür Demirtaş over this post.
In the section of his column today titled 'Professor Troll', Hakan lashed out at Demirtaş with the words, “If you were going to be a simple troll, what was the need for all that education?”
