Ahmet Türk: We will voice our reaction
Ahmet Türk, who was removed from office by the Ministry of Interior, made a statement in front of the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality. Türk stated, "We are, of course, voicing our reaction against those who do not recognize the will of the people, and we will continue to do so."
Arriving in front of the municipal building with DEM Party members, Ahmet Türk made statements to journalists, saying that they are voicing and will continue to voice their reaction against those who do not recognize the will of the people.
Stating that "the interior of the municipality has been filled with police, and they are not allowing the public to enter the municipality," Türk said, "This is not what they call an 'opening' (reconciliation process). We certainly want an opening and the embrace of peoples. If there is no setback, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is expected to be here after 17:15. I believe everyone should strongly react to this democratic disgrace."
Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun has been appointed as the acting mayor to replace Ahmet Türk, who was removed from office by the Ministry of Interior.
