Ahmet Yavuz writes: FETÖ is dead, but its microbe has contaminated everything

Following the death of Fethullah Gülen, retired Major General Ahmet Yavuz made striking remarks in a statement on the social media platform X. Yavuz emphasized the magnitude of the damage FETÖ has caused to Turkey and noted that society is still being negatively affected by this process.

Yavuz used the following expressions in his post:

"FETÖ ringleader Gülen has died, but the microbe has contaminated everywhere it touched (the state, society). It cost the country dearly, and it continues to do so. We are paying the price for our naivety, which borders on stupidity, because the government's fight against FETÖ has led to a new form of exploitation. Individuals and societies that do not question invite disaster!"

Ahmet Yavuz's statement points out that even after Gülen's death, the effects of FETÖ may persist, while noting that both the state and society are paying a heavy price for a lack of critical inquiry.

With his remarks, Yavuz has brought the debates regarding whether the fight against FETÖ has been sufficiently transparent and effective back to the agenda.

Yavuz indicated that following Gülen's death, there are still problems waiting to be solved in Turkey.
