Airstrike in northern Iraq: 24 targets destroyed

The Ministry of National Defense stated that an airstrike was carried out against terrorist targets in the Hakurk, Gara, Kandil, and Asos regions of northern Iraq, in accordance with the right to self-defense arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, with the aim of neutralizing the PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, eliminating terrorist attacks against the public and security forces from northern Iraq, and ensuring border security.

The statement reported that 24 targets, including caves, shelters, and depots used by the terrorist organization—which were assessed to contain terrorists at the leadership level—were destroyed in the operation.

The statement, which noted that a large number of terrorists were neutralized in the operation using the maximum amount of domestic and national ammunition, included the following:

"The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerged from the heart of our noble nation, will continue the fight against terrorism with determination and resolve until the last terrorist is neutralized, for the survival and security of our country and nation, just as it has in the past. During this operation, every measure was taken to ensure that innocent people, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment were not harmed."
