Akif Beki's take on Akın Gürlek: The job that started during his Deputy Ministry might have been forgotten due to absent-mindedness
As the repercussions of the Chief Prosecutor Akın Gürlek documents, revealed by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel at a rally, continue, an interesting comment has come from journalist Akif Beki.
Journalist Akif Beki spoke about the claim made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek: "He was appointed to this position (chief prosecutor) on October 2, 2024, and then on November 29, 2024, Akın Gürlek was appointed as a board member of Eti Maden's company in Luxembourg.
He received salaries from these places for 9 months, including the day he arrested Mayor Ekrem. He hastily resigned from the board membership on August 6, 2025."
Speaking on Halk TV, Beki said, "A job that started while he was Deputy Minister might have continued after he was appointed Chief Prosecutor. Therefore, could it have been a case of absent-mindedness? It might have been forgotten," he said.
