Akın Gürlek's lawyer's statement on Eti Maden: 'He waited for the board to resign'
The statements made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel at the Ümraniye rally regarding Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek and the documents he shared concerning Gürlek's side job continue to remain on the agenda. A statement regarding Özel's allegations has come from Gürlek's lawyer.
While Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek preferred to file a lawsuit rather than respond to the documents disclosed by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, a statement regarding the documents in question came from Akın Gürlek's lawyer.
Gürlek's lawyer spoke about the shared documents and the statements made during a live broadcast he attended.
Making a statement similar to those made by Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı and AKP's Tayyar, Lawyer Cem Kaya used striking expressions regarding the August 2025 date found in the documents.
Providing an explanation as to why Akın Gürlek is working until August 2025, Lawyer Kaya cited the fact that the board meets only once a year as the reason.
Here are the statements of Lawyer Cem Kaya:
"He resigned immediately upon starting the profession.
Since it has a foreign subsidiary, there are also foreign board members.
Because the general assembly meets only once a year, the decision to terminate the board membership is taken in August 2025"
