AKOM issues warning with specific date: Temperatures in Istanbul to drop by 10 degrees!

According to the statement released by the IBB-affiliated AKOM, Istanbul began the day with partly cloudy skies following temperatures hovering around 11 degrees. It is estimated that the wind will increase in intensity from the southwest (lodos) starting in the afternoon, and will reach storm force with short-term gusts of 40 to 80 kilometers per hour starting from 9:00 PM.

TEMPERATURES TO DROP SUDDENLY BY 8-10 DEGREES

While cold and rainy weather arriving from the Balkans is expected to take effect across the Marmara Region, especially in Istanbul, starting this weekend, temperatures currently ranging between 12 and 15 degrees will drop suddenly by 8 to 10 degrees starting Saturday, retreating to winter values. Along with this drop, there will be occasional heavy downpours.

Due to the lodos storm expected to be effective in the city until tomorrow evening, citizens are urged to be cautious against disruptions to air and sea travel, flying roofs and signs, falling trees and poles, and similar incidents, as well as the risk of stove and flue gas poisoning; stoves should be extinguished before going to sleep.
