AKP's Büyükakın uses 'You are a fool' phrase against Ekrem İmamoğlu: 'It is interference in the judiciary'

AKP's Büyükakın uses 'You are a fool' phrase against Ekrem İmamoğlu: 'It is interference in the judiciary'

Büyükakın used the following expressions in his speech:

"We wake up to a new case every day. They say something and then step aside. Yesterday, perhaps one of the shortest Friday prayers was held; an imam in Palestine took the pulpit and said, 'How can I explain from this pulpit what 30 thousand martyrs and thousands of wounded could not explain?'

Is there any need to say anything else? They touch another one of our nerves every day. They are conducting intelligence activities at every point in Turkey. There are such mind-boggling discussions that it is like this every time they come. Before one discussion ends, a new one emerges."

"THEY USE THIS AT EVERY POINT"

Attempting to explain the situation in the economy, Büyükakın said, "If we all say together, 'Let's say the dollar will be 50 liras at the end of the year,' everyone starts buying dollars and that dollar becomes 50 liras. The same goes for gold. This is how they are ruining the economy. This happened in the 1900s. It happened in Europe too. Kılıçdaroğlu said something like this during the last election period: 'Don't buy cars, we will lower taxes when we come,' and the car market went down. They use this at every point. Credit agencies are raising Turkey's credit rating. But they say 'the economy is bad' every day so that 'this should not be a morale booster and the government's economic policies should not be successful'."

"MR. İMAMOĞLU, I AM SAYING IT TO YOU TOO, YOU ARE A FOOL"

Expressing his discomfort with the criticisms directed at the government, Büyükakın continued his words by targeting Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu as follows:

"Stop for a minute and think, what fault does the government have? Stop and think, what did the government do to baby Narin? What did we do, but we are still getting beaten for it. Because we are silent, we are not talking, right? They are attacking justice every day. They say, 'There is no justice left in Turkey.'

Is it not interference in the judiciary for politicians to talk about a matter that is in court? You remember İmamoğlu had a 'fool' case.

He shakes his finger, saying, 'If the court decides against me.' Mr. İmamoğlu, I am saying it to you too. You are a fool. If this is not a crime, if this is not an insult, you need to be silent, but if it is an insult, you will file a lawsuit. Isn't that so? Does İmamoğlu say anything about the municipality? Is it free for him and forbidden for us? If I remain silent, who will speak?

Why should we be silent at the very time when we should be speaking? We will not hand this country over to them. There is no giving up on standing by the President, never, absolutely not, not until the end. I wish our congress to be beneficial to us all.”

CHP DISTRICT CHAIR REACTED

Making a statement following these words by Mayor Büyükakın, CHP Başiskele District Chair Uğur Falay used the following expressions:

“The use of the phrase 'You are a fool, Ekrem İmamoğlu' by Mr. Tahir at the AK Party Başiskele District Congress does not befit the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor.

As Mr. Tahir said in his speech, the persistent bringing of issues that are still under trial to the agenda by politicians is a complete interference in the judiciary. Trying to silence Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu by putting him under political pressure through judicial channels is an interference in the impartiality and independence of the judiciary.

Against the mentality that tries to take back through the judiciary what they could not win through elections against a Metropolitan Mayor who was elected by winning with a one-million-vote margin in Istanbul, the most important city in Turkey, we say rights, law, and justice despite them.

No longer respecting the voter, suddenly removing an elected mayor from office one morning and appointing a trustee in their place are the footsteps of an early election. You can no longer ignore the will of the voter with judicial decisions! We are with Ekrem İmamoğlu until the end.”
