AKP candidate's 'social assistance' scheme exposed! 'Money will be deposited into your account'

Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz brought to his column the allegation that in the Merzifon district of Amasya, financial aid provided to those in need by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation, which is under the Ministry of Family and Social Services, was being "turned into political propaganda" as if it were being distributed by the AKP.

Sharing the details of the complaint petition filed by CHP members, Saymaz stated, "It is claimed that personal data, including the list of names and phone numbers held by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation, has been shared with the AK Party."

"BY FATİH SÜTÇÜ..."

The relevant section of Saymaz's article titled "AK Party candidate has hijacked state aid" is as follows:

"A few days ago in the Merzifon district of Amasya, citizens were called from a mobile phone number starting with '0531'. The woman on the other end of the line said, 'We are calling from the Justice and Development Party Merzifon District Presidency. Money will be deposited into your account by our mayoral candidate Fatih Sütçü.'"

"WE CALLED FROM THE AKP DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION"

CHP's Merzifon Municipal Council member Fatih İşcan called this number yesterday and asked, "You are giving 2,500 TL. Who are you? In whose name are you calling?" The woman, who identified herself as Gül Sefa, said, "Yes, we called. It is being provided by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation under the Ministry of Family and Social Services, and by our President and Fatih Sütçü." İşcan asked, "Are you a civil servant?" The woman replied, "No. We called from the AK Party district administration." İşcan reacted by saying, "Why are you using Fatih Sütçü's name?" Sefa replied, "Let me give you our manager's phone number, talk to him." She then sent a number starting with '0546' belonging to Sadi Şen, who is alleged to be working at the AK Party's Election Coordination Center.

CHP FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT

CHP members went to the Merzifon Chief Public Prosecutor's Office yesterday and filed a criminal complaint. The petition alleges that the 2,500 TL provided by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation to those in need for winter expenses was being "turned into political propaganda and the public was being given misleading information" as if it were being distributed by the AK Party. It is claimed that the AK Party members engaged in propaganda contrary to the Law on Basic Provisions of Elections and Voter Registers. It is stated that personal data, including the list of names and phone numbers held by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation, has been shared with the AK Party."
