AKP candidates' commercials were broadcast all day: Will RTÜK penalize TRT Haber?

Although the elections have concluded, the investigations by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) continue. 

RTÜK members elected from the CHP quota, Tuncay Keser and İlhan Taşcı, demanded that TRT Haber's election broadcasts be investigated by the Supreme Council due to their one-sided nature. Following the completion of the elections, RTÜK Chairman Ebubekir Şahin decided to initiate an investigation into this complaint.

TRT HABER'S BROADCASTS TO BE INVESTIGATED

According to a report by Mahir Barış from Cumhuriyet, RTÜK decided to investigate the broadcasts of TRT Haber from March 31, the day when election bans were in effect, during which the channel aired commercials featuring AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Murat Kurum, AKP's Izmir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Hamza Dağ, and AKP's Kepez mayoral candidate Hakan Tütüncü throughout the day.

OPPOSITION CHANNELS HAD BEEN PENALIZED

RTÜK had previously imposed fines of 5 percent of advertising revenue on FOX TV and Halk TV, and 3 percent on Tele1 regarding their coverage of the May 14 Presidential and Parliamentary General Elections. It has been learned that RTÜK may reach a decision regarding TRT Haber's election broadcasts within this month.
