Election statement from AKP Deputy Chairman Ali İhsan Yavuz

AKP Deputy Chairman Ali İhsan Yavuz made statements regarding the earthquake recovery process and current issues at the AK Party Provincial Headquarters in Kilis. Recalling that he experienced the 1999 Marmara Earthquake in Sakarya, Yavuz noted that it was difficult even to access a tent at that time and stated that damaged buildings remained a problem for years. Noting that all state resources were mobilized during the February 6 process, Yavuz said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan followed the process closely. Expressing that housing in earthquake-affected regions was delivered to rightful owners in a short time, Yavuz said, "We are working day and night to turn dreams into goals and goals into reality."

Stating that the opposition has made criticisms regarding the earthquake and the domestic automobile, Yavuz said, "At one point, they called it a 'tin can.' Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said he was curious and wanted to see it. We see similar approaches today as well."

Reminding of President Erdoğan's past statements regarding refugees coming from Syria, Yavuz used the expressions, "We opened our doors to people fleeing barrel bombs. This is a matter of humanity. It cannot be used as a tool for politics."

"The election will be held on time, in 2028"

Responding to journalists' question, "Is there an early election?", AK Party Deputy Chairman Ali İhsan Yavuz stated that there is no early election on Turkey's agenda, saying, "There is no election on our agenda or on the nation's agenda. The election will be held on time, in 2028."

Upon a question regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's candidacy, Yavuz said, "We conduct politics in accordance with laws and the constitutional framework. We do not act with an understanding that does not recognize laws and the constitution, like the CHP. This is a state of law. It is not necessary for this election to be held 6 months or 3 months early. It could even be possible 1 week early. I say 2028 with that intention."
