Amid these developments, footage of AKP Tokat Deputy Cüneyt Aldemir circulating on social media has sparked controversy. The moments showing Aldemir dancing with citizens in Yapalak Village, located in the Zile district of Tokat, drew reactions from social media users.

During the visit, Aldemir was accompanied by AKP Zile District Chairman Attorney Ahmet Öcbe and Provincial General Assembly Member Veysel Balakan. After giving a short speech at the event where he met with villagers, Aldemir joined the traditional dance to music.

Numerous users on social media commented, “The country is burning, they are dancing,” “This insensitivity has become normalized,” and “Can a politician be this disconnected from the public?”

Some users also expressed that it is unacceptable for a deputy, who should be sending messages of aid and support to the fire zones, to participate in events that create a negative perception in the public eye.
