AKP deputy expresses thanks: IMM has applied to pay its SGK debts

AKP Group Deputy Chairman and Ankara Deputy Şahin Usta addressed the issue of indebted municipalities during his speech at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly.

Usta announced that the IMM has submitted an application to pay its SGK debts.

Usta stated in the TBMM General Assembly regarding the SGK debts, "The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has also made its application and initiated its efforts regarding this payment.

We thank them for this constructive attitude," he said.

Usta said the following:

"Why is there discomfort regarding the step taken to pay insurance premium debts? They claim that by pressuring the municipalities, their budgets are being restricted.

The total budget of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is over 500 billion. The SGK debt for 2024 is 3 billion 250 million.

In other words, paying a debt of 3 billion liras from this 500 billion budget does not mean pressuring this municipality. This is a significant amount for the SGK, and it was done to ensure this payment is made with a conciliatory approach.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has also made its application and initiated its efforts regarding this payment. We thank them for this constructive attitude.

I want to emphasize that this issue should not be distorted, and that the SGK restructuring and the payment of debts are for the benefit of the nation and the continuation of services."
