AKP's Hüseyin Yayman: PKK will lay down arms in February

AKP Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman held a press conference at the Parliament. Evaluating the meetings held by the DEM Party delegation with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, Yayman said, "I believe that within the month of February, an atmosphere where weapons are laid down in Turkey, the surrender of arms, and the fact that the PKK terrorist organization will no longer carry out actions in Turkey will come to the agenda and be discussed more. If everything goes well, I foresee that within February, there will be developments that will change Turkey's history in a positive direction and allow Turkey to take forward steps."

'DEM PARTY MUST FULFILL ITS HISTORICAL RESPONSIBILITY'

Yayman used the following expressions:

"There have been very important developments in the process initiated by Mr. MHP Chairman and our People's Alliance partner Devlet Bahçeli. At the opening of the Parliament on October 1, Mr. Bahçeli going to the DEM group, congratulating them on the opening of the Parliament, and shaking their hands, and later his positive words in the Nationalist Movement group and the words he expressed on October 29 Republic Day, have actually been proof of the foresight with which Mr. Bahçeli spoke. Mr. Devlet Bahçeli had made a call to the PKK terrorist organization and the DEM Party group as if he had foreseen the developments that would take place in Syria. He said, 'Either the fingers will be taken off the triggers, or these fingers will be buried along with the triggers.' The main idea of this issue is a Turkey without terrorism. I see the developments at this point positively. Mr. Bahçeli's call is of historical importance so that martyr mothers no longer cry and for Turkey to get rid of this scourge of terrorism. It is a litmus test and a test of sincerity. Now it is DEM's turn to speak. The DEM Party must fulfill its historical responsibility. It must adopt a more encouraging attitude regarding the PKK terrorist organization laying down its arms and ending its actions in Turkey. Today, for the first time in history, the DEM Party is visiting Mr. Devlet Bahçeli. This is truly the movement and attitude our nation wants to see."
