AKP deputy joins Cizre debate: 'One must turn a blind eye'

The presence of uniformed bodyguards carrying long-barreled weapons alongside KDP leader Masoud Barzani, who attended a symposium in Cizre, Şırnak, in recent days, has dominated the agenda.

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, while reacting to the images in question with the words 'It is a disgrace, in a word,' Barzani's office also issued a harsh statement directed at Bahçeli.

Following the statement from Barzani's office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested an explanation from the KDP, while the Ministry of Interior launched an investigation into Barzani's arrival in Şırnak accompanied by bodyguards with long-barreled weapons.

CİZRE REMARK FROM AKP'S ENSARİOĞLU

AKP Diyarbakır Deputy Galip Ensarioğlu made controversial remarks regarding the Cizre scandal, which continues to occupy the agenda.

According to a report by Özgür Cebe from Sözcü, he argued that such images should be ignored during the second opening process, referred to as a Turkey without terrorism.

Speaking to Channel-8, a channel known for its proximity to the PUK broadcasting from the city of Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq, Ensarioğlu stated that he does not represent the government and said, "In this critical process, one must avoid harsh expressions, ignore some things, and turn a blind eye."

Stating that Barzani is a symbolic and important actor for the Kurds, Ensarioğlu said, "State officials from Turkey also go there with their armed bodyguards. But this situation has never been made an issue. Turkey's tanks and armored vehicles have also been present in Duhok and Amediye for years. There were times when we conducted identity checks; yet they did not blow this out of proportion. Even when civilian casualties occurred from time to time during the fight against terrorism, they did not turn it into an international issue."

Claiming that the images in Cizre were exaggerated by social media, Ensarioğlu said, "The images of the two private security guards accompanying Barzani were overly exaggerated on social media, which triggered unwanted statements. This misunderstanding needs to be rectified quickly."
