AKP founder Çelik rebels, calling trustee appointments 'an affront to reason': Sharp reaction to trustees
Former AKP Minister of National Education and Culture Hüseyin Çelik criticized the appointment of trustees on his social media account. Çelik stated, "The trustee system, in its current form, is an affront to reason."
Hüseyin Çelik, an AKP founder and former Minister of National Education and Culture, made a post on his social media account regarding the appointment of trustees.
Criticizing the practice in question, Çelik used the following expressions:
“Regardless of their position, no one has the privilege to commit crimes and avoid accountability.
However, everyone is innocent until a final judicial decision is reached against them.
The trustee system, in its current form, is an affront to reason. Even if a mayor is found guilty, an opportunity should be given for someone selected by the Municipal Council to become the mayor.”

WHAT HAPPENED?
Trustees were appointed to the municipalities of Esenyurt, Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti. Governor Tuncay Akkoyun was appointed as the trustee for the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, Governor Ekrem Canalp for the Batman Municipality, and District Governor Hakan Başoğlu for the Halfeti Municipality.
