Statement on Syrians from AKP Group Deputy Chair Usta: 'We would open our doors without excuse'

In a written statement, Usta reacted to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş's remark regarding Syrian refugees: "Now that there is no longer any oppression by Assad, there is no obstacle left to their return."

Noting that Syrian citizens are returning to their homeland, which they have longed for, in a dignified manner, Usta asked, "Wherever there is a person suffering oppression, we would open our doors again without excuse. You should be the ones thinking now.

Those of you who have built your entire political existence on Syrian refugees for years, what kind of perception will you try to create now?"

Claiming that Mansur Yavaş has been transferring the resources of Ankara residents to other individuals through concerts and events, Usta used the following expressions: "Mr. Mansur, whose mask has fallen after handing over the resources of our fellow citizens in Ankara to certain people through concerts, you should be the one thinking more about what kind of perception you will create now."

Usta stated that following the collapse of the Baath regime in Syria, the return of Syrian refugees in Turkey to their country has also accelerated.
