AKP's Birinci warns his party to 'return to its roots': Otherwise, a tyrannical CHP will come to power
AKP member Mücahit Birinci claimed that if his party does not "return to the codes" of its founding period, it will lose power in the next election.
Former AKP Central Decision and Administrative Board (MKYK) member and lawyer Mücahit Birinci has issued warnings, arguing that the AKP has drifted away from the principles of its founding period.
In a report by Euronews, Birinci drew attention to the transformation within the AKP, stating that the party's "genetic codes" originally contained a civil approach.
Birinci said, "I know that our President, while founding the party, embedded these codes into the AK Party together with his friends and colleagues. But for one reason or another, I admit that as the AK Party, we have taken on a more authoritarian hue."
"A TYRANNICAL CHP WILL COME TO POWER"
Regarding the possibility of the CHP coming to power, Birinci said the following:
"We cannot do this evil to Turkey. I am speaking about these things precisely because I do not want the Turkish nation to face such trouble from the CHP.
The summary of what I am saying is very clear and explicit: If the AK Party does not return to its democratic codes, it will be gone in the first election, and a tyrannical CHP will come to power.
In other words, it is not even easy to imagine what they will do with the revanchism built up over 23 years. They will make the things we currently criticize as rigid statism look mild by comparison."
