Kurdish language call to Diyanet from AKP's Metiner: 'I hope this deficiency is addressed promptly'

Former AKP deputy Mehmet Metiner, who has been one of the most vocal supporters of the new resolution process dubbed a 'Turkey without terrorism,' made a noteworthy post on his social media account.

Stating that the state has a Kurdish-language television channel and that the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) provides sermons in 8 languages, Metiner called on the Diyanet to offer sermons in Kurdish.

Metiner's post on his X account is as follows:

"Our state has a Kurdish television channel.

The Diyanet provides sermons in 8 languages.

For some reason, Kurdish is not among those languages.

I hope the Diyanet addresses this deficiency promptly.

Kurdish, just like Turkish, is our cherished language.

It does not divide; it unites."
