AKP's Metiner targets opposition, calling them a 'security issue'! 'Summaries of proceedings sent to Parliament must be considered'

Former AKP MP and Yeni Şafak columnist Mehmet Metiner, in his article titled "Özgür Özel must be touched... The peace process must be crowned...", targeted both CHP leader Özel and opposition MPs.

Stating that "Özel's CHP is a national security issue," Metiner said, "The summaries of proceedings prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and sent to Parliament for other CHP MPs, especially Özel, must be taken into consideration."

The relevant section of the AKP member Metiner's article is as follows: 

"Özel is blinded by ambition. He is playing according to the advice given to him. He is playing a very dangerous game. He is playing dangerously enough to lead his own country to destruction. He is proceeding by tearing down all obstacles in front of his personal power. He is suppressing the opposition within his party by leaning on the perception he has created on the street. He is using the hatred he personally created on the street as a tool for his own political ambitions. First, he creates hatred, then he surfs politically on that wave of hatred, and through that hatred, he renders the intra-party opposition unable to speak.

While trying to consolidate the masses on the street under his own leadership, he is simultaneously turning the anger of that mass into a silencer for those who oppose him within his party. The internal affairs of his party concern him and his party members. But this discord he has unleashed into the country concerns all of us, along with our country.

Özel's CHP is a national security issue in its current state. It is a threat to the unity of our state and our nation. It acts as a dangerous and harmful focus aimed at collapsing our social peace from its roots. Özel relies on his immunity. In fact, it is not just Özel, but the clique managing the CHP that relies on the armor of immunity.

If the CHP continues to maintain this non-political stance, God forbid, much worse social divisions and conflicts may emerge. That is why the summaries of proceedings prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and sent to Parliament for other CHP MPs, especially Özel, must be taken into consideration."
