AKP's Tayyar evaluates the Shara and Abdi meeting: Trump gave the green light
As no agreement could be reached between Shara and Abdi, who sat down to end the conflicts in Syria, the fuse for a new chaos that will restart in the region has been lit. Following the unsuccessful meeting, Shara spoke with US President Trump and received his support, after which the Syrian army launched a new operation.
While statements regarding the details of the meeting between the two figures continue to be made, an evaluation of the events also came from AKP's Şamil Tayyar.
AKP's Tayyar stated that the agreement was broken by Qandil and used the following expressions:
"SDF/YPG succumbed to Qandil and did not comply with the agreement.
Cemil Bayık and Fehman Hüseyin were influential in the collapse of the agreement.
Qandil preferred a strategy of conflict through bloodshed and the exploitation of Kurds.
Syrian President Shara, in order to persuade Mazlum Abdi, offered him the position of Deputy Minister of Defense even though it was not in the agreement, said he could appoint the person he wanted as the Governor of Hasakah, and asked him to determine the local force in Ayn al-Arab himself.
Abdi rejected these, voicing Qandil's proposals, and demanded 'self-governance' in northern Syria.
The ties were severed at this point.
Later, Trump called Shara and gave the green light for a new operation.
And the Syrian army began a clean-up operation."
