AKP's Tayyar says 'everyone will know their place': 'Some CHP members are foaming at the mouth over what I said about Ali Mahir'
Former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar has made a statement regarding the reactions he received after targeting CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır.
Tayyar had spoken about the agenda regarding the lifting of parliamentary immunities. Şamil Tayyar had said, "1 or 2 of them could be chosen as an example for the CHP deputies." Tayyar made a statement following the reactions he received.
AKP's Tayyar said, "Some CHP members are foaming at the mouth over what I said about Ali Mahir. Profanity is not an opinion. Neither is insult. Reminding those who do not know their place is the very essence of the law. In short, everyone will know their place."
Tayyar's social media post is as follows:
"Nobody should take offense.
As written above, our principle is this: Right is right, wrong is wrong.
We state our words fairly; it does not matter if it is the government or the opposition, including the judiciary, everyone gets their share.
Some CHP members are foaming at the mouth over what I said about Ali Mahir.
Profanity is not an opinion.
Neither is insult.
Where there is no opinion, there is a crime, and there is a penalty for it.
Immunity is not a shield for insults and profanity.
Since the Constitutional system that guarantees immunity also provides for its removal in case of abuse, doing what is necessary is not a threat, but protecting legal security.
The real insolence is to attack others cowardly from behind the shield of immunity.
Reminding those who do not know their place is the very essence of the law.
In short, everyone will know their place.
