AKP's Ensarioğlu calls on Hakan Fidan to resign! 'Either he leaves his post or he will be removed'

AKP Diyarbakır MP Galip Ensarioğlu was a guest on Rudaw TV. Criticizing Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's statements regarding Syria policy, Ensarioğlu claimed that the expressions in question contained harsh language.

While asserting that Fidan's statements did not align with the spirit of the times, Ensarioğlu implied that this stance contradicted the will of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Ensarioğlu called on Minister Fidan to resign.

"ANYONE WHO ACTS AGAINST THE PRESIDENT'S WILL EITHER LEAVES THEIR POST OR IS REMOVED"

Ensarioğlu included the following statements in his speech:

"In our presidential system, the will that determines policy is the will of the President. A person who acts against the President's will either leaves their post or is removed from office. In such important matters for Turkey, regardless of one's title, there can be no will above the President's, and no one can manifest a will against it.

It can be said that there were some harsh elements in Hakan Fidan's statements regarding Syria policy, or that expressions were used that did not fully reflect the spirit of the times; I state this as my personal opinion. However, in the end, the President determines the final policy and has the last word."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, pointing out that military and intelligence experts, as well as regional countries, the US, and other actors, continue their agenda of fighting ISIS, had stated, "We must never allow any terrorist element to derail the Syrian people and state on their path to recovery."

Making assessments regarding the situation and integration process of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which uses the name SDF in Syria, Fidan had said, "Of course, we are not satisfied with the speed of the process. We, the Syrians, and some other partners—I do not want to name them—collectively think that the 'SDF' is trying to gain more time. I think they are hoping for other opportunities for themselves, perhaps in the form of another regional crisis, or perhaps due to Israel's expansionist policies towards Syria and other places. Therefore, I think what is good is that our American partners are very well aware that this process must be completed because it is very important for the unity of the country."
