The AKP-run Arnavutköy Municipality has transferred nine properties, of which it is the owner or shareholder, to the Treasury in exchange for the debts of the municipality and its affiliated companies.

Two of the properties transferred by the AKP-run municipality to the Treasury contain mosques, while one contains a family health center and another contains Şakayık Park.

The commission report prepared on the subject and submitted to the Arnavutköy Municipal Council included the following statements:

"The directorate's proposal has been examined, and the transfer of a total of 9 properties, of which our municipality is the owner or shareholder as indicated in the table below, to public institutions for use in exchange and offsetting transactions against the debts of our municipality and our subsidiaries, has been deemed appropriate by our commissions in accordance with the relevant articles of Law No. 6183 on the Procedure for the Collection of Public Receivables. It is submitted for the approval of our Council."

The proposal passed the Council by majority vote, despite the dissenting votes of CHP council members.
