AKP's Kurum shares post regarding Cemil Tugay's visit: He had resigned from the CHP

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who resigned from his party following Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's return to the leadership of the CHP by court order, visited Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum.

Sharing a post on his social media account following the reception held at the Ministry, Minister Murat Kurum gave a message of harmony with local governments. Kurum made the following statement regarding the details of the meeting:

"We hosted Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Cemil Tugay at our Ministry. We evaluated the priority needs of Izmir, ongoing projects, and requests regarding our city. We will continue our work in harmony and cooperation with our local governments."

CEMİL TUGAY ALSO MADE A STATEMENT REGARDING THE MEETING

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who made a statement regarding the visit, stated that the focus of the contact was urban transformation and the city's earthquake resilience.

Touching upon the special situation concerning 15 neighborhoods in the Karabağlar district and areas under the Ministry's authority, Tugay included the following statements in his remarks:

"We came together with our Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Mr. Murat Kurum. In our meeting, we discussed urban transformation, which is one of the most important agenda items for our Izmir.

We evaluated the current situation regarding the transformation of earthquake-risk structures and the urban transformation area concerning our 15 neighborhoods in Karabağlar, where planning authority lies with our Ministry, as well as the support we expect from our Ministry.

I would like to thank our Minister very much for the interest he showed and his constructive approach.

We are working to solve Izmir's problems in the most rational ways. With this understanding, we will continue to be in dialogue and search for common solutions with all relevant institutions for the future of our city."
