Following the stock transactions of former AKP minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya that came to light within the scope of the fund crisis, a statement has come from AKP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik.
Speaking within the scope of the Century of Turkey Meetings, Çelik stated that the instructions of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the fund crisis are clear and that the process is being followed meticulously. Expressing that those who engage in irregularities and corruption will be held accountable regardless of who they are, Çelik noted that the situation of citizens negatively affected is also being monitored.
Arguing that what happened does not pose a systemic risk to the financial system, Çelik said it was a crisis that emerged in a small area of the capital market. Çelik also stated that judicial and administrative measures will be taken to ensure a similar situation does not happen again.
"REQUEST TO BE RELIEVED OF DUTIES ACCEPTED BY OUR PRESIDENT"
Çelik said, "Fatma Betül Hanım's request to be relieved of her MYK and MKYK memberships has been accepted by our President. Fatma Betül Hanım is currently not a member of our MYK or MKYK."
Çelik's statement regarding the fund crisis and Kaya is as follows:
"President Erdoğan's instructions regarding the fund crisis are clear. Work is being carried out meticulously. Our goal is a clean society. Everyone will give the necessary account. Whoever does wrong will be held accountable. Those who engage in irregularities and corruption will be held accountable. This is the compass of our approach to the issue.
The situation of citizens negatively affected is also being monitored. The necessary response will be given to those targeting our party.
They are putting forward a number of claims regarding the financial system, but there is no such situation. It is a crisis that emerged in a small area of the capital market. Judicial and administrative measures will be taken to ensure it does not happen again. There is no compromise on protecting the nation's trust. Every kind of wrongdoing will be fought without compromise. There is no systemic risk in the financial system."
