AKP Seyhan District Chair resigns, saying 'it is to be met with maturity': The measures deemed appropriate

AKP Seyhan District Chair İbrahim Gökçedağ, who resigned from his post, used the following expressions in a statement he made on social media:

“I will continue to serve our sacred cause, which we walk under the leadership of our esteemed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the same loyalty and determination as I have until today.

Throughout my tenure, I have never acted with personal agendas.

I have seen positions not as an end, but as a tool to serve our cause. With this understanding, I have tried to fulfill every task given with great effort and a sense of responsibility.

In politics, the evaluation of the efforts made in the field, the bridges of affection built, and the struggle put forth can sometimes manifest in different ways.

What falls to us is to meet the decisions taken and deemed appropriate with maturity, and to continue on our path without creating resentment. Because our commitment is not to positions, but to our cause.

The fact that I am leaving the district chairmanship does not mean that I am leaving our cause and our organization.

Regardless of what title I hold tomorrow, I will continue to be at the command of our President and in the service of our cause. On this occasion, I respectfully submit to the public's information that I have terminated my district chairmanship duty as of today."
