First statement from AKP Spokesperson Çelik following Gaza protests: 'The attacks are baseless...'

Following the March 31 Local Elections, "trade with Israel" protests were held in many cities.

During the protests held in cities such as Konya, slogans such as "Murderer Israel, collaborator AKP" were chanted.

Furthermore, the trade of boron ore through Eti Maden, which is affiliated with the Wealth Fund, also caused reactions among citizens.

Following the protests, AKP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik shared a post on X.

Çelik stated the following:

"OUR PRESIDENT HAS BEEN APPRECIATED BY PALESTINIAN LEADERS"

"The clear stance of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the Palestine and Jerusalem issue, and his sensitivity regarding Palestinians in the occupied territories is an indisputable fact. The diplomacy and superior efforts in every field that our President has carried out to stop the Israeli aggression against Gaza since October 7 are known to the whole world.

Our President is the only leader who has stood against those who call Palestinians resisting for their lands and rights terrorists, and has recorded this stance at the highest level in front of world leaders. Due to this approach and practical support, our President has been appreciated by the Palestinian people and Palestinian leaders on every occasion.

Because of this fundamental approach to the Palestine issue, our President is targeted by the massacre network and the leading figures of the Netanyahu government. Despite all the attacks he has faced throughout his political life, our President has not for a moment given up on defending the Palestinian cause as one of the fundamental lines of his political life.
