AKP Spokesperson Çelik speaks on Özel's allegations: We are not a camera-taping party

AKP Spokesperson Çelik made statements regarding the agenda while the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, chaired by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was ongoing at the AKP Headquarters.

Before beginning his speech, Çelik touched upon the participation of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay in the party, stating, "From now on, I hope our İzmir will look to the future with beauty and good services within a framework where coordination between the central government and local administration is fully ensured."

Çelik stated that they believe Bekir Bozdağ, who left his post as Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) due to health problems, will continue to serve the party and the country in a healthier manner.

"The claims from time to time by some organization members that the framework law has entered into force but is not being implemented do not reflect the truth"

Expressing that one of the most important items on the MYK agenda is the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process, Çelik said, "The mechanism we established within our party continues to work in the most powerful way. The boards and commissions established regarding the process are working within their own rhythm. There are also important developments in the Syria and Iraq dimensions of the matter. The claims from time to time by some organization members that the framework law has entered into force but is not being implemented do not reflect the truth. The organization laying down its arms as a whole, all its structures ending their activities, and organization members gathering in places determined by the joint mechanism are the necessary conditions for the implementation of the framework law," he said.

"A process will begin with the YBŞ leaving its weapons to the central Iraqi administration"

Stating that the situation that emerged after the SDF dissolved itself in Syria is one of the gains of the Terror-Free Turkey process, Çelik said, "Currently, the second gain is the statement made by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi on September 11. A process will begin with the YBŞ leaving its weapons to the central Iraqi administration. Thus, Sinjar Mountain will pass under the control of the Iraqi state. This will emerge as an important development in the Iraq dimension of the Terror-Free Turkey process. After this takes place, it is also envisaged that the Bashiqa-Zilkan camp will be gradually handed over by our country to Iraqi forces within a period of 60 days," he stated.

"Our citizens whose rights have been usurped by profiteers should rest assured"

Stating that the necessary work is being carried out regarding the fund investigation that emerged following the developments in the capital markets, Çelik said, "While the Fund Coordination Board, chaired by our Vice President, is carrying out all this work, it is also putting forward an action plan to protect the rights of our citizens who have been victimized by these fund profiteers. Our citizens whose rights have been usurped by these profiteers should rest assured. The information and documents in the state's possession have the capacity to reveal who was greedy here and who was truly wronged. When this comes out, these processes will be completed in a short time within the framework of this work carried out by all institutions in a holistic manner. Steps will be taken to send whatever legal regulation is required to Parliament so that this does not happen again. There will be no dark spots in any way. This entire picture will emerge in the clearest way possible," he declared.

Pointing out that there are some discourses targeting the Turkish economy, Çelik said, "Without allowing these, we will proceed in the most determined manner regarding the illumination of these issues, the punishment of the guilty, and the protection of the rights of those who have been wronged, in front of everyone's eyes and within the etiquette of politics and the state."

"Israel continues to destabilize Syria and the region by continuing its occupation"

Emphasizing that Israel's aggressive stance returns to Syria as destabilizing actions, Party Spokesperson Çelik said, "We are following these processes closely. In the context of a terror-free region, after the SDF dissolved itself, the fact that Syria can look to the future more strongly within the framework of a single Syrian state, single sovereignty, single country, and single army is a situation we all care about very much. We constantly state that all management mechanisms in Syria should be implemented within the framework of inclusive government models. Problems originating from Israel form the basis of the matter. They have taken another step that violates the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement of Forces in Quneitra. Therefore, Israel continues to destabilize Syria and the region by continuing its occupation," he assessed.

Emphasizing that the resurgence of conflicts between the US and Iran due to the failure to fulfill the requirements of the Islamabad Agreement poses a new danger, Çelik said, "In connection with this, this whole picture that has emerged in Yemen and threatens Bab-el-Mandeb has once again shown us all how important it is to protect Turkey's stability within this ring of fire around us."

Stating that they continue to follow the ongoing genocide in Gaza and Israel's actions, Çelik said, "Today, a propaganda machine that unilaterally blames Hamas and ignores Israel's massacres continues to be operated in the context of October 7."

Speaking about the new legislative year of the TBMM, Çelik said, "There are reforms we will make in the coming period. As the People's Alliance, we will mature these. After maturing them, we will make them an element of our politics. Our President has given instructions for the next 10 months to be evaluated well. Within the framework of these instructions, each of our friends in our MYK will do their duty," he said.

Pointing out that the dangers regarding artificial intelligence getting out of control are also on the world agenda, Çelik mentioned that the owners of the companies that produce artificial intelligence themselves state that they are facing danger in many areas, including the moral and ethical values of humanity, and said, "TEKNOFEST is much more important from now on. The interest shown by citizens in the latest TEKNOFEST held in Şanlıurfa reveals how Turkey has realized a revolution of self-confidence in terms of the Red Apple (Kızılelma) in the face of the challenges the world has brought before us."

After his statements, Çelik answered questions from members of the press. Upon a journalist asking whether the schedule regarding President Erdoğan's visit to Syria has become clear, Çelik replied, "Our President has a desire to go to Syria. This is a subject that will be coordinated with Syria, it is being worked on. The date has not been finalized yet."

"The work to implement the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement will be sent to Parliament within a few days"

Çelik gave the following answer to the question regarding the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement:

"Of course, it will come to Parliament for the agreement to be implemented. Since this work has also matured, it will be sent to Parliament within a few days. Ordinary processes are working, and while this is happening, a campaign is being launched by the opposition as if wrong things are being done or things are being overlooked. First, a declaration of will is put forward, and this will was put forward by our President. Then these mechanisms are worked on, and our Minister of Foreign Affairs, our Minister of National Defense, and our Chief of General Staff met with their counterparts. In the end, there will be a framework that you will send to Parliament. In this framework, it has been completed in terms of the internal processes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The process will be concluded with the discretion of the Grand National Assembly. The legal basis will be fully realized with the completion of the process in Parliament. In that respect, it is of course open to the participation of other countries. These types of security agreements and alliances mature over time by consulting with other states within the framework of their own principles."

"The presidential candidate of the People's Alliance in the coming period is also our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan"

Upon being asked whether MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's statements regarding the re-nomination of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were evaluated in the MYK, Çelik said, "We express our gratitude to Mr. Bahçeli for these strong sentences. The presidential candidate of the People's Alliance in the coming period is also our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. We discussed this in the MYK before. Since it is a subject related to our President himself, these issues do not appear as an official agenda item in any way. There is a sensitivity about this. As MYK and MKYK members, we expressed this issue. Our friends also approved this," he stated.

Upon being asked whether a meeting is expected between President Erdoğan and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli in the near future, Çelik said, "They meet with a certain periodicity. This is planned according to the convenience of both of their schedules. This could be tomorrow, or it could be 5 days later," he said.

"Whoever has documents or information, let them take it to the judiciary"

Upon being asked about the statements of YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel regarding the fund investigation, Çelik said, "These types of crises have come to the agenda in other parts of the world as well; they exist in political history. Some cleaned this up in 5 years, some in 9 years. We are extremely determined to reveal this in all its dimensions. We do not act with speculation. We truly act with information and documents. Yesterday, this person comes out and makes statements exceeding the limits to our President, saying 'you are at the head of this business.' The will at the head of revealing this issue and cleaning up this issue is our President. By what authority and by what right does he use these expressions against our President? As he always does, he is trying to involve our President's family members in the business. These things have blown up in their faces many times, and they are still continuing. All transactions are open, everyone sees them. These are not things to be handled with political pickpocketing. He claims something, then they try to connect unrelated situations to each other. We are also fighting the struggle to clean up the fraud and profiteering in their municipalities. The words he targets our President with do not go beyond the political nonsense of someone who has lost his own party to profiteers. Whoever has documents or information, let them take it to the judiciary. Our Minister of Justice and the Ministry of Justice are carrying out their work within the procedures drawn by the constitution and laws. They look at the claim, they examine the elements of crime coming from state units. Whenever one of their corruptions blows up, they constantly target our Minister of Justice and our Ministry. For them, the acceptable Minister of Justice and Ministry is one that will not apply the constitution and laws to them. One that will not conduct any investigation regarding them. They will continue their roles from the times when they thought they were the privileged owners of the state. They were constantly saying 'AK Party judiciary branches' in the past; this person thinks he is a fake Minister of Justice. There is a clear situation here. All these investigations are being carried out within the framework of the powers granted by the Constitution and laws and are also being shared openly. By what right are you targeting the Minister of Justice and the Ministry? Should the judiciary not be applied to you? Do you still see yourselves as the owners of the state? They are targeting our Minister of Finance. The Ministry has done its part from the very first moment for this issue to be revealed in all its dimensions. Today, on one hand, they are taking measures so that the markets are not affected, and on the other hand, they are making efforts to clean up the problems. On one hand, they are trying to reveal the profiteers. Steps that need to be taken due to political responsibility are also being taken in our party. We are stating our principles clearly here. Who is the person saying this to our President, our Minister of Justice, our Minister of Finance, and our party officials? Type this name into the internet, and write Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım next to it, look at what his own mayor has claimed about him? Put a plus next to this name again, write Antalya Mayor Muhittin Böcek, and look at what he has talked about. He has not been able to answer these even once. These people have talked about numbers, they have talked about which money tower was built on which wall. Therefore, the person accused by his own party makes the claim himself, then constructs a verdict, and starts to take political action on top of this verdict," he assessed.

Çelik continued as follows:

"Everything is in the open. There are thousands of people, whose account is whose, let them examine the accounts, it will be seen who is acting legitimately and who is profiteering. After that, they can talk as much as they want about it. If they have any documents, let them transfer them to the judiciary immediately. If the necessary action is not taken in judicial applications, then they can talk. These are not subjects of political speculation. A clear principle needs to be set here, and we have set this principle. Whether it is a friend, relative, loved one, acquaintance, or colleague of any of us, we will not allow these people to be convicted by political lynching campaigns. If there is an allegation against these people, we will not allow these allegations to be covered up with political patronage. The issue here is this; it will be based on real information. We will not allow people to be targeted as a result of political lynching campaigns, nor will we allow them to be convicted in social media courts, nor will we allow it in any way if allegations and investigations about someone are being covered up through political patronage."

"We are not a camera-taping party"

Stating that all issues are being pursued within the scope of the fund investigation, Çelik said, "We have no hesitation about this, whatever there is, let it be revealed. We are not a camera-taping party. Camera-taping is not in our political nature. We are in favor of everything being conducted transparently. Let them sit down and contemplate on Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu's sentence, 'They are gone, we are purified.' We must maintain the level of politics no matter what. We could say such things from this podium that we would be in the headlines for days, but it would be a pity for politics. This person loves to give nicknames to our friends in high offices, to our ministers. We will not voice any of these. Let them deal with the nicknames their own friends gave them in the Parliament lobby. You do politics with political intelligence and political arguments," he said.
