AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik's statement on the 'fake diploma' scandal: The state has been aware for 1 year

AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik concluded his remarks by saying, "The relevant institutions have been warned. We will go all the way." 

Çelik reacted to the criticism of the Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) decisions by the opposition, stating, "Both our current Chief of General Staff and our Land Forces Commander have unquestionable military qualifications in terms of their military merits, and they have been brought to their current positions by the discretion of our President based on their work to date. CHP members are resorting to old, worn-out tricks by asking whether this is an objective choice or a political choice. The Presidency is the office of the Commander-in-Chief. They think that our President cannot use the authority that they grant to any military official within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK)."

Ömer Çelik made statements regarding the agenda following the MKYK meeting. Çelik commented on the fake diploma scandal that shook the agenda, the 'Terror-Free Turkey commission', the SDF's relations with Syria, and the opposition's criticisms of the YAŞ decisions. Regarding the SDF, Çelik said, "We are closely following the positions regarding Turkey's national security. The essential thing is the implementation of the agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF. Then there will be no problem left." Making a statement regarding the constitutional discussions, Çelik said, "Constitutional discussions are held from time to time; this has nothing to do with that. Our goal has always been to provide our country with a civilian constitution and to achieve a constitutional environment that will form the articles of the Teşkilat-ı Esasiye (Basic Organization) that will lead Turkey to its centennial goals. Work was done in the past as well, but unfortunately, it did not happen. We are continuing our work on this. The process is the goal of reaching a Terror-Free Turkey."

"We are starting a new phase under the name of 'Turkey Century' meetings. We are launching a new study where we will meet with our citizens from August 8 to September 15. Our President has given his relevant instructions for this new period.

The commission in Parliament has started its work regarding the completion of the process of the PKK laying down arms and dissolving. Parliament is in control of the agenda, and the commission is in control of its agenda. We see that statements are being made that impose a mission on the commission outside of its founding purpose. We must not lose focus. The focus is on the PKK dissolving and laying down its arms. Constitutional discussions are held from time to time; this has nothing to do with that.

Our goal has always been to provide our country with a civilian constitution and to achieve a constitutional environment that will form the articles of the Teşkilat-ı Esasiye that will lead Turkey to its centennial goals. Work was done in the past as well, but unfortunately, it did not happen. We are continuing our work on this. The process is the goal of reaching a Terror-Free Turkey. We always express how critical it is. We will convey how we view the issue and our assessments to our citizens during the Turkey Century meetings. We will also visit our martyrs' families. It will be an occasion for addressing the concerns coming from various segments of society."

"IT WAS DETECTED BY STATE INSTITUTIONS 1 YEAR AGO"

There is a criminal network trying to carry out these activities within the state regarding fake diplomas and driver's licenses. This issue was detected by state institutions a year ago, and these investigations were conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. As of May 21 of this year, it was turned into a lawsuit, and evidence was collected. Everything has been tracked and included in the file. It is a situation that state institutions were aware of a year ago. The relevant institutions have been warned. We will go to the end. We will not give credit to the slanders against our friends. We will root out whatever is involved in forgery. Our institutions are doing their duty. The necessary actions will be taken, and all these activities will be scraped away with a razor. The judiciary and the police are doing their duty. Disinformation has emerged, and all of it has been refuted.

We are closely following the issue of Palestine and Gaza. Regarding humanitarian aid, the aid we send there, the case we joined with South Africa, and all these are concrete actions that put forward the most effective strategy against the Zionist genocide network. While all genocide crimes have been committed, what needs to be done is to bring the massacre network to justice. It is for them to be held accountable just as the Nazis were. They must be held accountable for the crime of genocide. Everyone who encourages them will have to face Nazi actions.

We said this when this process first started: the PKK must lay down its arms with all its branches and extensions. We said that illegal structures must also be dissolved. We see that some reservations have been expressed and objections have been raised regarding this approach of laying down arms with all its extensions. Our principle and stance are clear, and we also see the mobility there. The PKK structure called the SDF had an action plan with the Syrian administration; they would lay down their arms and surrender. Different models were going to emerge in Syria and Iraq. We see that approaches contrary to Syria's national sovereignty have been put forward.

Of course, this is something we will not accept. A terror-free Turkey will also be an inspiration for the goal of a terror-free region. These are the works they do with terrorist organizations for their plans to seize certain regions of countries they could not obtain. We are closely following the positions regarding Turkey's national security. The essential thing is the implementation of the agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF. Then there will be no problem. We are closely following the statements made on behalf of the SDF regarding their demands. We will not allow this process of a Terror-Free Turkey, which we mentioned, to be sabotaged; we will do what is necessary.

The loyalty of the Armed Forces to the constitution is something that disturbs this mentality. Both our current Chief of General Staff and our Land Forces Commander have unquestionable military qualifications, and they have been brought to their current positions by the discretion of our President based on their work to date.
