AKP statement on pension hike: 'We will present it to Erdoğan'

AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler made statements regarding the hike to be applied to the lowest pension. In his statement, Abdullah Güler said, "What the budgetary possibilities are needs to be determined. We have gathered the analyses regarding this, we will present them to our President as of this evening, and we will submit them to the Speaker of Parliament tomorrow."

Güler, who did not provide a figure for the hike, said, "It will be finalized this evening. It would not be right for me to state a figure right now. There are alternatives, we are looking at them."

PENSIONERS' EYES ARE ON THE REGULATION

Following the 6-month inflation figures announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute on July 3, the hike rate to be applied to pensions was 24.73 percent.

Because the hike rate determined according to the 6-month average inflation is applied to base pensions, the pensions of those with a base pension of 7,710 liras and below remained below the lowest pension despite the hike.

The eyes of pensioners receiving 10,000 TL as part of the lowest pension practice have turned to the expected regulation.
