AKP's Tayyar reacts to 'why are we on the side of greedy capital': Very strange and disturbing

The protest initiated by miners to receive their wages ended after a guarantee was given that their demands would be met, and the miners returned home following the Ministry of Interior's role as a guarantor. Following this development, AKP's Tayyar offered a striking assessment and self-criticism.

Pointing out that the AKP has for some time appeared to be on the same side as 'greedy and irresponsible capital' instead of standing with the victim, Tayyar wrote the following:

"The miners' protest in Ankara has ended after a difficult 2-week process.

With the intervention of our Ministries of Interior, Energy, and Labor, the workers' ordeal has ended.

There is another point I want to draw attention to.

The AK Party came to power with the great support of disadvantaged segments, and wherever there was a victim or the oppressed, AK Party cadres were there.

I have been watching for a while.

Mine workers, villagers, minimum wage earners, retirees, street vendors, producers, farmers, students…

When they take to the streets to draw attention to the problems they face or to demand improvements in their working conditions, we suddenly find ourselves on the opposite side.

Sometimes in the guise of the gendarmerie, sometimes the police.

It is very strange and disturbing.

Why should we appear on the same side as greedy and irresponsible capital?

Our place is by the side of the nation.

They have kept us in power for 24 years and they deserve that support more than enough.

For instance.

In this latest miners' protest, the problem should have been solved without needing to wait for 2 weeks, and these workers should not have felt abandoned.

In summary.

Politics is done for the people, not in spite of them; we have done this for years and we must continue without interruption."
