Akşener does not forgive earthquake survivor! "They asked for 30 thousand liras"

Kahramanmaraş earthquake survivor, who lost his home and workplace in the earthquakes, has asked IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener to drop the lawsuit she filed against him over a comment he made on social media during the election period.

Recep Karayiğit (61), a tradesman who has been a tailor for 40 years in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquake, wants the lawsuit filed against him over his comment about Meral Akşener during the election period to be dropped.

He stated that he is not in a position to pay the 30,000 lira amount required to reach a settlement in the case, which has been referred to a mediator.

"THEY ASKED FOR 30 THOUSAND LIRAS"

Karayiğit, who lost his home and workplace in the earthquake, said, "During the election period, because of a word Meral Akşener used regarding AKP members, I wrote a post saying, 'what kind of creature are you.' In response, Akşener filed a lawsuit. I went to the police station and gave my statement. Time passed and the earthquake happened. I at least expected them to forgive something like this during the earthquake period. Unfortunately, a mediator lawyer called me. They told me that the lawyers would reach a settlement with me. When I asked what kind of settlement, they asked for 30,000 liras from me. I told them that someone who lost their workplace and home in the earthquake could not pay this. The mediator said, 'You will give them whatever they want.' We are waiting for this to be forgiven," he stated.

"ERDOĞAN DROPPED THE LAWSUITS, WE EXPECTED THIS MAGNANIMITY FROM AKŞENER BUT IT DID NOT HAPPEN"

Karayiğit continued his words as follows;

"For example, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan dropped all insult lawsuits in the earthquake region. We expected this magnanimity from Akşener, but it did not happen. Let them not put us in financial distress. We are already in enough trouble here. My workplace and home are gone, I have nothing. I had a container built here and I am working. I am not in a position to give this to Meral Akşener either."
