In an investigation conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into zoning fraud, extortion, and bribery offences, Alaattin Köseler — who was already being tried under remand in a separate case and had been removed from his post as Mayor of Beykoz — has been arrested.

Alaattin Köseler also remanded in custody on charges of 'bribery' and 'extortion by coercion'

In the investigation conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, proceedings were initiated against then-Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler and Construction Control and Zoning Director Ali Cihan Sakman on charges of "accepting bribes" and "extortion by coercion," based on the statements of complainants as well as the testimony of then-Chief Private Secretary Veli Gümüş, who gave evidence under active remorse provisions.

Suspects Alaattin Köseler and Ali Cihan Sakman were referred to the on-duty Magistrate's Court with a request for their remand in custody.

The court issued a remand order against both suspects in connection with the charges brought against them.

An arrest warrant for the purpose of remand was also issued against suspect Levent Özdinç.
