Ali Koç had made a 'cocktail' bet: Waiter fired
The waiter who made headlines after Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç asked him what was in the cocktails at an event has been dismissed from his job.
Mertcan Kanmaz, the waiter whose dialogue with Ali Koç was recorded and shared on social media, had previously made a statement claiming the dialogue was misunderstood after reactions emerged regarding Ali Koç's attitude at that moment.
"I DID NOT RECEIVE MONEY FROM ANYONE"
Mertcan Kanmaz announced that he had been fired by sharing a video on social media.
In the video, Kanmaz said: "An incident occurred recently. People were divided; some lynched Mr. Ali, while others normalized the event. Everyone thought I received money from Mr. Ali. I did not receive money from anyone."
"I LOST MY JOB"
Continuing his remarks by saying, "No one from Mr. Ali's team reached out to me," Kanmaz added, "I wish they had reached out; at least I would have had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Ali. Because it was dark, I couldn't even see his face; if I had recognized him, I would have gone over. I believe Mr. Ali did this entirely as a joke. This caused me two harms. First, I was lynched, and second, I lost my job. I do not want this matter to be dragged out any further."
