Ali Yerlikaya announces: Key figure of the Daltonlar gang, Sinan Memi, brought to Istanbul

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that they have brought Sinan Memi, a high-level leader of the Daltonlar organized crime group who was wanted via a red notice, back to the country from Poland, and drug trafficker Atakan Avcı, also wanted via a red notice, from Bulgaria.

In a statement on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya provided the information: "We have brought Sinan Memi, one of the high-level leaders of the Daltonlar organized crime group whom we were seeking with a red notice, back to our country from Poland, and drug trafficker Atakan Avcı, whom we were seeking with a red notice, from Bulgaria."

Stating, "I want our dear nation to know that no matter how large they are, no matter which country they have fled to, we will capture members of organized crime groups and drug traffickers one by one and bring them back to our country. They will not be able to escape us," Minister Yerlikaya provided the following details regarding the operations:

"Sinan Memi, one of the high-level leaders of the Daltonlar organized crime group, who has been sought at the national level for 3 years with 20 arrest warrants for 10 separate crimes including 'Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes, Premeditated Murder, Trafficking of Drugs or Stimulants, and Making Propaganda for a Terrorist Organization,' and at the international level for 1 year for the crimes of 'Premeditated Murder and Attempted Intentional Murder,' and Atakan Avcı, who has been sought at the international level for 1 year for the purpose of his extradition to our country to be tried for the crime of 'Importing Drugs or Stimulants' with a 30-year prison sentence by our country's judicial authorities, were arrested in Poland and Bulgaria for the purpose of their extradition to our country as a result of joint efforts carried out by our Ministry of Justice, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, our Interpol-Europol Department, our Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), Narcotics Crimes and Intelligence Departments, and our Istanbul Provincial Police Department. Sinan Memi was taken into custody from Poland and Atakan Avcı from Bulgaria, and under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security (EGM) Aviation Department, they were brought to Ankara by a Gendarmerie General Command Aviation Department plane with EGM Special Operations Department personnel to be handed over to our judicial authorities. I thank our Ministers of Justice and Foreign Affairs and the ministry staff who took part in the operation. I congratulate our Interpol-Europol Department, our KOM, Narcotics Crimes and Intelligence Departments, and our Istanbul Provincial Police Department."
