Ali Yerlikaya announces: New decision regarding mandatory second 'eastern duty' for police officers!
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that a new assignment system based on service points has been implemented within the police force, and that the mandatory second 'eastern duty' will not be applied during the 2026 general assignment period.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made important statements at the Evaluation Meeting with the 81 Provincial Police Personnel Branch Managers held in Ankara. Yerlikaya stated that a new era has begun in the assignment processes of police officers.
Emphasizing that the new system, which is based on service points, has been put into effect, Yerlikaya used the following expressions in his speech:
"We are also encouraging success by supporting it with rewards and appreciation. In the general assignment period to be held in 2026, mandatory 2nd 'eastern duty' notifications will not be issued to our personnel. We are continuing our work regarding the personal rights of our police officers."
