Ali Yerlikaya announces the toll of the 5.1 magnitude earthquake
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement regarding the 5.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Sea of Marmara – Gemlik Bay, saying, "2 of our citizens fell down the stairs, and there is no negative situation regarding their health."
According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 5.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sea of Marmara – Gemlik Bay. The earthquake was felt in many provinces, primarily in Istanbul, as well as Balıkesir, Eskişehir, Bilecik, Bursa, İzmir, Tekirdağ, Kocaeli, and Kütahya.
Following the earthquake, which caused brief panic, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement on his social media account, saying:
"A 5.1 magnitude earthquake occurred this morning at 10:42 in the Sea of Marmara, Gemlik Bay-Bursa Mudanya region. Subsequently, 13 aftershocks of varying magnitudes were recorded, the largest being 4.5.
In Istanbul, Bursa, and other surrounding provinces; as a result of field scans conducted by AFAD, Gendarmerie, Police, UMKE teams, and other officials, along with the evaluation of reports received by 112, there is currently no negative situation."

Reports of building cracks were received from Esenler (1) and Küçükçekmece (1), and teams from the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization have been dispatched to the relevant addresses.

A report of a crack in one house was received in Mudanya, and teams from the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization have been dispatched to the relevant address.
2 of our citizens fell down the stairs, and there is no negative situation regarding their health.
