Ali Yerlikaya claim to dominate the agenda following Erdoğan-Bahçeli meeting! 'He packed up his office...'

It has been alleged that Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya went to his office at the ministry the other evening and had his personal belongings packed up.

According to Gazete Pencere, it is being discussed that the topic of a cabinet reshuffle was addressed during the meeting held at the Palace between AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

Following this contact, the claims that Yerlikaya has vacated his office have increased activity in Ankara.

DAVUT GÜL'S NAME IS BEING MENTIONED

Behind-the-scenes, it is stated that the name standing out for the Ministry of Interior in the event of a possible change in duty is Istanbul Governor Davut Gül. It is noted that if appointed, Gül would move to the seat of the Ministry of Interior after his tenure as Istanbul Governor.

BAHÇELİ HAD REACTED

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had criticized Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya without naming him during the MHP Parliamentary Group Meeting on January 6.

Referring to the ISIS attack in Yalova where 3 police officers were martyred, Bahçeli had used the following expressions: “Let the fate of the DAESH terrorists neutralized in Yalova be a lesson and a warning to everyone. Finally, the statement that these DAESH terrorists are citizens of the Republic of Turkey is an extremely disturbing and problematic explanation. I hope that such thoughtless and problematic assessments that could be pulled in every direction will be carefully avoided, and I commemorate our dear martyrs with mercy, gratitude, and respect.”

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, in his statement regarding the same operation, had said: “As a result of the treacherous attack, unfortunately, 3 of our heroic police officers have been martyred. 6 terrorists were neutralized in the ensuing clash. These terrorists are Turkish citizens.”
