Ali Yerlikaya: There is no place for criminal organizations in Turkey

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, in a statement to journalists following the Peace and Security Meeting held at a hotel, said that they discussed the peace and security of cities with relevant officials during these meetings.

“THERE IS NO PLACE FOR CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS IN TURKEY”

Emphasizing that they are sending the message through these meetings that "in the Century of Turkey, there is no place for terrorism, their collaborators, drug dealers, organized crime groups, or those who are arrogant in crime," Yerlikaya stated the following:

"Whoever they may be, we will dismantle and deliver to justice all structures that see themselves above the law and attempt to disrupt our public order. No one, but no one, is stronger than our state and our nation. In our thousands-year-old state tradition, ensuring order and establishing the peace of the nation is the primary duty. Today, the Ministry of Interior family, with its 600 thousand personnel working day and night with heart and soul, is responsible for this duty."

Yerlikaya spoke about the efforts made between June 4 and December 1, over 180 days, to make Erzurum more peaceful and secure.

“WE WILL CLEAN UP OUR STREETS”

Stating that the fight against all terrorist organizations, primarily the separatist terrorist organization that targets the unity, solidarity, and brotherhood of the nation, continues relentlessly, Yerlikaya continued his words as follows:

"This struggle will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized and this scourge of terrorism is scraped and cast out from these lands. To this end, 346 operations were carried out in Erzurum during this period against the separatist terrorist organization PKK/KCK, FETÖ, and DAESH. In these operations, 4 terrorists were neutralized. 100 suspects were detained, 7 of whom were arrested, and judicial control decisions were issued for 3. The crimes committed by organized crime groups that harm our peace and security, or 'urban bandits' as our President puts it, do not, cannot, and will not go unpunished. We are determined to deliver them all to justice one by one. We will completely clean our streets of these bullies."

Yerlikaya stated that 6 out of 10 suspects detained in 4 operations against organized crime groups in Erzurum in 180 days were arrested, and noted that 2 organized crime gangs, one regional and one local, were dismantled in Erzurum.

Explaining that 878 suspects were detained and 73 were arrested in 630 operations against drug dealers in Erzurum, Yerlikaya said, "We are determined to make life miserable for those who try to poison our future, our children who are the light of our eyes. We have no tolerance for losing even one child, one offspring, to this drug scourge."

FIGHT AGAINST MIGRATION

Stating that the fight against irregular migrants and migrant smuggling organizers continues, Yerlikaya continued:

"In our fight against irregular migration, we have put into service our vehicles that we call Mobile Migration Points. The Mobile Migration Point application is a study included in our strategy aimed at 'narrowing the field and accelerating deportation processes.' We first started implementing it in Istanbul on July 19 as a pilot province. As of today, 1 Mobile Migration Point vehicle is serving in Erzurum. With this application, we will increase the pressure on the field. You will see, the number of irregular migrants caught will increase day by day."

Pointing out that Erzurum is a strategic city in the fight against irregular migrants and migrant smuggling organizers, Yerlikaya reported that 18 out of 117 suspects detained in 57 operations against migrant smuggling organizers in the city in the last 180 days were arrested.

Yerlikaya noted that 652 irregular migrants were caught and deported, along with 5 thousand 501 irregular migrants who were in removal centers.

“A STRUGGLE WE ALL MUST WAGE”

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that he wanted to repeat the call he made in every province he visited here as well, and concluded his words as follows:

"We are waging the struggle we carry out for the peace and safety of our nation with heroes who work selflessly, putting their lives on the line and leaving their loved ones behind, and we will continue to do so. However, this is a struggle that we all must wage together. From 7 to 70, with mothers and fathers at home, with our teachers at school, with our mukhtars in the neighborhood, with our tradesmen in the bazaar, with our non-governmental organizations. We see all segments of society as the biggest stakeholders in this struggle. Whoever it may be—a gang, a drug dealer, a loan shark, or a criminal organization that disrupts our peace and harms our security—please report it by calling 112. We also accept comments made on our social media accounts as reports. You will see that our security units will intervene immediately. In the Century of Turkey, we will establish Turkey's peace together with our nation."
