All assets of Bebek Hotel owner seized: Statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office

The seizure of the assets of Yıldırım, the owner of Bebek Hotel, was requested due to 'strong suspicion of a crime.' This request by the prosecutor's office was accepted by the 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace.

STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated the following in its announcement: “Within the scope of the investigation numbered 2026/13211 conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism Financing Prevention and Money Laundering Investigation Bureau, due to the presence of serious evidence that the assets of the suspect Muzaffer Yıldırım were obtained from crime and that the income in question was laundered, the ex officio seizure decision issued by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 09.02.2026 under the Law on Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime has been approved by the decision of the Istanbul 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated 09.02.2026 and numbered 2026/885 miscellaneous affairs. The investigation is continuing in a multi-faceted and meticulous manner.”

WHAT HAPPENED?

Muzaffer Yıldırım, the owner of Bebek Hotel, was first detained and then arrested on January 7 as part of a drug investigation targeting famous figures. It was alleged that Yıldırım kept records of the people who came to the venue. It was claimed that many people were found in possession of prohibited narcotic substances during the raid on Bebek Hotel.

Mehmet Çobanoğlu, an employee of Bebek Hotel owner Muzaffer Yıldırım, described the poker parties, the business people who attended, and the ledger kept for the games in his statement to the prosecutor's office. The statement included allegations regarding Ali Koç, Acun Ilıcalı, and Okan Buruk.
