'All-inclusive' model in tourism is becoming a thing of the past: 50 billion lira in annual waste

Turkey aims to reach 80 million high-quality tourists in the tourism sector by 2028. To achieve this goal, it is preparing to implement a plan to gradually move away from the 'all-inclusive' system.

The new plan will be implemented gradually over the next 4 years. One of the first steps taken by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to get tourists out of hotels was the launch of night museum visits. The ministry will now focus on gastronomy, culture, and health tourism.

According to a report by the Türkiye newspaper, Mustafa Korkutata, a member of the Ankara Young Businessmen Association (ANGİAD), stated that the all-inclusive system leads to food waste and suggested that in the new era, hotels could collaborate with local restaurants in central locations to encourage tourists to leave their hotels. Korkutata shared the information that hotel-related waste reaches 50 billion lira annually.
