Allegation that Turkish citizenship was granted to Salafi jihadist Bouidani, who is wanted via Interpol Red Notice!
İYİ Party's Turhan Çömez has alleged that Salafi jihadist leader Essam Bouidani has been granted Turkish citizenship.
İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Turhan Çömez has claimed that Essam Bouidani, the former leader of the Syria-based Salafi jihadist organization Jaysh al-Islam, has received citizenship in Turkey.
In a statement made on the social media platform X, Çömez stated that Bouidani's name had been changed to Essam Bedatioğlu.
While alleging that Bouidani had made millions of dollars in investments in the tourism sector in Antalya, Çömez stated that France had found documents regarding Bouidani's crimes in Syria and had issued a Red Notice via Interpol. However, noting that Bouidani did not encounter any obstacles in Turkey, Çömez said that Bouidani traveled to Dubai with a Turkish passport and was arrested there.
Çömez added that he had directed questions to the Ministry of Interior regarding the matter and would share them with the public if he received a response.
Here is Çömez's post:
'We have granted Turkish citizenship to Essam Bouidani, who led the Syria-based Salafi jihadist organization Jaysh al-Islam! His new name has become Essam Bedatioğlu.
'The man brought in tens of millions of dollars and made tourism investments in Antalya. Meanwhile, France reached documents of the massacres the man committed in Syria and applied to Interpol to issue a Red Notice for him. However, no one in Turkey has touched the gentleman(!).
With the confidence and comfort this provided, he set off for Dubai with the Turkish passport he put in his pocket. Of course, he was caught at the border and arrested. I asked the Ministry of Interior about all dimensions of this disgrace. If they can provide an answer, I will share it with you.'
