Alleged PKK/KCK terrorist leader captured in Istanbul
A Syrian national, identified as an alleged leader of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, has been detained in Istanbul while preparing for an attack.
The Istanbul Police Department's Intelligence Branch and Counter-Terrorism Branch directorate teams conducted a joint operation aimed at uncovering and preventing the activities of the separatist terrorist organization.
The teams determined that H.A.C., who operated at a leadership level within the PKK/KCK and YPG/PYD terrorist organizations in the Qamishli district of Al-Hasakah, Syria, had entered the country using a fake Palestinian identity card.
Teams identified the address of the Syrian national, who was determined to be continuing his activities on behalf of the organization in Istanbul and was seeking to carry out an attack, and detained the suspect in an operation. Following his processing at the police station, the suspect was referred to the courthouse and subsequently arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace.
