Amendment to the Regulation on Student Dress Code published in the Official Gazette
The regulation regarding the amendment to the Regulation on the Dress Code of Students Affiliated with the Ministry of National Education has been published in the Official Gazette.
With the amendment published in the Official Gazette, school uniforms for students in primary, middle, and high schools will be determined by the school administration, taking into account the opinions of the school-parent association board and teachers at the teachers' board meeting held at the beginning of the second semester, without including restrictive details such as special symbols, prints, or patterns.
The visual of the determined school uniform will be published on the school's website.
The determined school uniform cannot be changed for 4 academic years. When a school uniform is changed, students in intermediate grades will be able to continue wearing their current school uniforms until they transition to the next level of education.
NO REQUIREMENT FOR SPECIAL CLOTHING
The determined school uniform will be economical, simple, practical, easily accessible, and in accordance with pedagogical principles, in line with the general and special objectives and basic principles contained in Law No. 1739.
Students will not be required to purchase special clothing that would impose a financial burden on parents for use during special days, weeks, celebrations, or in-class and extracurricular activities.
Students in preschool education institutions and special education schools will wear clean and tidy clothing suitable for their age group. Students with health conditions who document their status will be able to wear clothing as required by their condition.
Depending on the characteristics of the program they are studying, students will wear aprons, overalls, or clothing suitable for the nature of the work in workshops, laboratories, and workplaces with the approval of the school administration. School-parent associations will not be able to engage in clothing sales or approaches and guidance that violate the conditions of free competition regarding the procurement of school uniforms.
